Midway koopt Surreal Software

Midway heeft vandaag bekend gemaakt Surreal Software te hebben gekocht. Midway heeft het bedrijf achter Drakan: Order of the Flame (1999) helemaal opgeslokt door alle aandelen te kopen. President David F. Zucker zei hierover:

"The positive market reception to The Suffering illustrates our ability to successfully develop and release entirely new properties that resonate strongly with the growing audience of sophisticated, mature gamers. The acquisition of Surreal Software, the visionary developer behind The Suffering, strengthens our internal product development team and reinforces our ability to create high quality games."

Of Midway zichzelf nog steeds wil verkopen aan Microsoft blijft onduidelijk. We vermoeden dat de onderhandelingen stuk zijn gelopen want we horen niets meer over de mogelijke deal.
