Microsoft: ''Garantieverlenging geeft positieve indruk''

Recentelijk heeft Microsoft de garantieperiode voor de Xbox 360 verlengd met drie jaar. Chris Lewis, de Regional Executive Vice President bij Microsoft, heeft zijn mening gegeven over deze beslissing. Lewis zegt dat Microsoft hiermee een voordeel heeft gemaakt ten opzichte van haar concurrentie. ''Het feit dat we op deze manier achter ons platform staan, laat zien wat we veel geven om onze consumenten.''.

The extension of the warranty is fixated around some of our customers expressing frustration – but certainly not all of them. The fact that we’re standing so solidly behind the product and stepping up to the alleviation of the problems in a pretty lavish way is a progressive reaction that shows how much we care about our consumers.

Volgens Lewis zien winkelketens de garantieverlenging van de Xbox 360 nu als een 'Unique Selling Point' (USP), oftewel, één van de redenen om een Xbox 360 aan te schaffen.

The three-year warranty does actually give us an advantage over the competition. And the fact that we’re now ahead of this thing will heighten people’s levels of confidence in terms of the Xbox 360 purchase.

Lewis is dus van mening dat consumenten nu meer vertrouwen krijgen in het aanschaffen van een Xbox 360.
