PS3-versie VF5 wellicht toch nog online

In een interview met TVG heeft Virtua Fighter 5 producer Tohru Murayama aangegeven dat de PS3-versie van de game alsnog een online modus kan krijgen door middel van een patch:

How frustrating was it to release the PlayStation 3 version of Virtua Fighter 5 in Japan without online functionality?

In the case of PlayStation 3, our first priority was to convert Virtua Fighter 5 from the arcade onto as soon as possible. To achieve that purpose we had to give up the development of the online mode - we'd love to try if there was time and the budget but unfortunately, we had to give up on that idea. AM2 are sorry to PS3 users - a lot of people say that it'is one of the missing things from the version.

Is it something that AM2 can solve with a patch?

No doubt.

Muruyama geeft hier aan dat het zonder twijfel mogelijk is om een patch te maken voor Virtua Fighter 5 die online functionaliteiten toevoegt aan de PS3-versie van de game. Hij zegt hier natuurlijk niet dat AM2 die patch ook daadwerkelijk gaat maken, maar de kans is in ieder geval zeker aanwezig.
