Metal Gear Solid niet geschikt voor PlayStation Portable

De Metal Gear Solid serie zoals wij die kennen is niet geschikt voor de PlayStation Portable. Dit zei Hideo Kojima vorige week tijdens de E3 beurs. De bedenker van de Metal Gear Solid serie had een interview met Computer & VideoGames achter gesloten deuren.

"You know, MGS the series is about stealth-action and requires very delicate, very fine button controls, button inputs. If you make a little mistake with the button input you might be spotted by an enemy - a handheld is just not suitable for that kind of fine button input.

When I discussed with the team, we came up with the idea to have a game that has the Metal Gear Solid look, feel and flavour, but something that isn't action based, because of the way the buttons and controls work. That's why we've come up with something more strategic. It's more of a side-story ; but in Metal Gear Acid you'll probably see all of the characters from Metal Gears 1, 2 and 3."

Fans zouden niet treurig moeten zijn, omdat de originele serie niet op de PlayStation Portable te spelen zal zijn. Ze zouden juist dit nieuwe concept moeten omarmen om te zien wat voor unieke mogelijkheden het oplevert.

Metal Gear Acid werd voor het eerst aan het publiek getoond op de E3 beurs van 2004. Het spel zal naar alle waarschijnlijkheid in 2005 op de markt verschijnen.
