Crytek laat zich uit over forse piraterij Crysis

Cervat Yerli, de CEO van het Duitse Crytek, heeft zijn zorgen uitgesproken over het schokkende aantal illegale downloads van hun game Crysis. In een interview meldt hij dat het aantal illegale downloads per verkocht exemplaar zo rond de vijftien tot twintig ligt.

It's crazy how the ratio between sales to piracy is probably 1 to 15 to 1 to 20 right now. For one sale there are 15 to 20 pirates and pirate versions, and that's a big shame for the PC industry. Crytek probeert dus alle zeilen bij te zetten met Crysis Warhead, de opvolger van Crysis, maar als de piraterijcijfers op dit enorme niveau blijven zitten, kan Crytek in de toekomst beslissen al hun projecten ook op de spelcomputers uit te brengen.
